New York, in the novel (Third Part), has the value of a symbol, and it represents the stage in which Victoria, the main character of "The God of Green Valleys", as an adult, can be fulfilled as a human being, since "The Difference" and "Different People" in New York are accepted and even rewarded. The power of diversity creates better groups and societies.
New York is the space where the energy moves and flows incredibly quickly and people is looking forward to cooperating. Lack of prejudices drives to a dynamism that triggers infinite and diverse proposals. Movement. Flow. Dynamism. Diversity. Joy. Nascent state.
"Nascent state has been created (in New York) in which individuals become capable of merging with other persons and creating a new collectivity with a high degree of solidarity." (Francesco Alberoni)
New York is in real life and in the novel too the positive energy; Life is lived fully.
For a gifted people, a dymanic and multicultural environment without dogma and flexible is full of stimuli to get inspired; it is in such an environment in which gifted people can find intellectual challenges to fully develop their talents.
In the opposite, gifted people are isolated in poor environments. "The God of Green Valleys" tells (like it had never been told) about the violence that gifted people suffer in Castile and in Spain, and the mortal jealousy that teenage girls feel towards physical and spiritual beauty of those women who are more gifted, and how psychiatrists treat this serious problem from their own patriarchal perspectives treating women like they were idiot, inferior or unbalanced, which misleads Castilian gifted women to believe they are sick instead of making them see their real gifts and talents.
Castilian society has the ability to create sick women where there are gifted women.
