"The God of Green Valleys" describes, through Victoria, its main character, the problem that Castile and Spain, generally speaking,has to accept the "Difference" and "different people", specially gifted and highly sensitive individuals.
The book masterfully describes tribulations that Victoria suffers in Castilian and Spanish society being a beautiful and gifted woman.
But novel diggers into the fact of current submissive attitudes of Castilian society in which still survives Ancien Régime mental conceptions, being a poor and non diversified society which triggers jealousy and scorn towards who is different.
